Systems Engineer 3

Supports the Engineering Data Repository System (EDARS) team in development and implementation of EDARS tools for aircraft and equipment issue Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis and preventive actions. Supports C-17 Reliability and Maintainability personnel, Cognizant engineers, and DEA engineers in developing, consolidating, analyzing, and submitting multiple Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs) to the USAF customer. Supports the annual DEA Program Assessment and interacts with C-17 USAF and FMS SPO Engineering personnel. Collaborates with systems engineering, other engineering groups, and Process Based Management personnel to ensure program-level visibility, formal documentation maintenance, and timeliness of cycle time and quality-based performance metrics. Develops and drives RCCA efforts to mitigate recurrent engineering dispositions and reduce customer burden via Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot maintenance concepts, Technical Orders (TOs), Work Instruction Records (WIRs), engineering drawings, and design improvements. Performs complex systems engineering or system integration work for C-17 sustainment program. Performs data analysis, trending, and reporting for engineering processes and performance metrics. Applies Functional Hazard Analysis (FHAs), FMEA, Airplane Level Threats (Particular Risk Analyses), Fault Trees, and System Safety Assessments (SSAs). Develops and integrates engineering processes across multiple organizations to define and drive common objectives. Maintains technical network and collaboration with C-17 System Engineering and Sustainment Engineering teams.

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. 5+ years of experience performing complex systems engineering or system integration work. 3+ years of experience in data analysis, trending, and reporting. 3+ years of experience with Functional Hazard Analysis (FHAs), FMEA’s, Airplane Level Threats (Particular Risk Analyses), Fault Trees, and/or System Safety Assessments (SSAs). 1+ years of experience in Engineering process development and process integration. Experience influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations to define and drive common objectives. Preferred: Program-level Life Cycle Management and/or Systems Engineering Plan and process development experience. Preferred: 2+ years of experience with C-17 Program and Engineering experience. Preferred: 2+ years of experience working within or accessing non-conformance data systems such as VECTOR, GOLDesp, and/or AutoTAR., Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
