Job description
We are seeking a Manager, HR Systems (Workday) to lead the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of the Workday platform in support of a global, multi-entity organization. This role partners with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to ensure Workday effectively supports business processes, delivers accurate data, and provides a strong user experience. Reporting to the Director of HR, this position plays a key role in executing the HR tech roadmap, supporting system-related projects, and driving continuous improvement across Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s Workday tenant and UKG Dimensions timekeeping instance.
This is a flexible hybrid role, based out of our Global Support Center in Rosemont, IL. The role is primarily remote, with an expectation to come onsite approximately 1-2 days per month for collaboration. #LI-Hybrid
As our Manager, HR Systems, you will:

Configure, maintain, and support Workday SKUs including HCM, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Performance, Talent, Peakon Employee Voice, Workday Drive, and Dashboards/Reporting

Support the execution of the HR tech roadmap in partnership with HR leadership

Participate in and lead portions of Workday-related projects, including the annual engagement survey, new module implementations, enhancements, process redesign, and system upgrades

Partner with stakeholders to define business requirements, document processes, and translate needs into scalable system solutions

Coordinate and execute project activities such as configuration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), data validation, and deployment support

Participate in Workday bi-annual releases, including impact analysis, testing, and implementation of new functionality; work with HR leadership team to communicate any changes impacting UX/UI to the HR, leader, and employee communities as appropriate

Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and user experience

Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business and HR decision-making

Ensure data integrity, system security, and adherence to internal controls and global data privacy requirements

Develop, manage, and execute Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) integrations, including inbound and outbound data loads, mass updates, and data migrations; troubleshoot and monitor EIB processes to ensure accuracy and reliability

Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, support projects, and deliver effective system solutions

Support payroll and benefits processes through system configuration, testing, and issue resolution

Maintain and support integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems

Provide end-user support, training, and documentation to HR teams, managers, and employees

Troubleshoot system issues, manage tickets, and ensure timely resolution of production support needs

Requirements

6-8 years of HRIS experience, with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with Workday

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, HR Information Systems, or related field preferred

Experience configuring and supporting multiple Workday modules (Core HCM required; additional modules strongly preferred)

Demonstrated experience supporting or leading HRIS or Workday-related projects (e.g., implementations, enhancements, integrations)
-
Hands-on experience with Workday EIBs, including building, testing, and troubleshooting inbound/outbound integrations and mass data loads required; experience with other integrations (APIs, etc.) strongly preferred

Experience participating in testing cycles (UAT, regression, integrations) and system deployments

Experience supporting HR systems in a multi-site environment required, global experience strongly preferred

Solid understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle

Experience with Workday reporting and dashboards desirable

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to project timelines

Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Advanced analytical and excel proficiency

At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits. The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $149,400 - $182,500 annually.This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
