Job description

DUTIES As a successful candidate for the CNO NetDev Developer II role, you will perform CNO reverse engineering and software development for network-based devices. In this position, you will design, implement, and integrate tactical software solutions within a fast-paced, dynamic, mission-centric environment. Collaborating closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and fellow software engineers, you will deliver critical tactical support to directly advance key mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Derive, document, and analyze stakeholder requirements
  • Port, modify, and augment existing mission toolsets
  • Deliver rapid prototypes for early validation and user feedback to confirm mission requirements
  • Deploy production-ready tools engineered to operate within strict mission constraints

QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a minimum of Six (6) years of software/system development is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Experience must consist of technical expertise in at least Two (2) or more of the following areas:

  • System Requirements Analysis
  • Software System Design
  • Software System Development
  • Software System Integration
  • Software System Testing

In addition to the requirements above, the individual shall have at least Five (5) years of work experience in Three (3) or more of the following areas:

  • Developing software applications in C, C++, or Java
  • Developing software applications for Unix, Linux, or Windows environments
  • Developing DLLs for the Windows environment
  • Development of computer telephony platforms using computer telephony cards such as Dialogic
  • Object-oriented design and programming
  • Working knowledge of common protocols/standards such as TCP/IP, SNMP, H.323, X.25, 802.1 I, 802.16, SIP, MEGACO, or MGCP
  • Web development, with proven knowledge of XML, PHP, MySQL, ColdFusion, or Apache
  • Script writing using Perl, Python, Bourne shell, C shell, or other proprietary scripting languages
  • Database experience with Sybase, Oracle, or Microsoft
  • Reverse engineering and analysis of software
  • Kernel knowledge of Unix (Linux)
  • Bit-level data analysis

Additionally, the candidate must be able to:

  • Operate within Unix-based environments, including Linux and BSD
  • Reverse engineer Linux-based network devices using Ghidra or IDA Pro
  • Analyze network traffic with tools like Wireshark using an in-depth understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP
  • Develop and modify software systems using C, C++, Python, and Assembly
  • Provide ongoing technical support for fielded software systems
  • Utilize Git, Subversion, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for version control and workflow management, * Reverse engineer various RTOS environments or Microsoft Windows
  • Analyze and target various RISC architectures including MIPS, POWER, and ARM
  • Program in Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, Rust, or Go
  • Develop CNO-specific software across Linux, Windows, and embedded applications
  • Perform vulnerability research and exploit development
  • Apply knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
  • Leverage experience with production CNO capabilities and operational workflows
