Job description

Summary of Job Duties:The Classroom Technology Support Technician provides frontline support for classroom technology in WCOB, WJWH, RCED, JBHT, BREW, and the McMillon Studio in HAPG. This is a hands-on role ideal for current university students who are reliable, tech-savvy, and comfortable assisting faculty and instructors in live classroom settings.

Technicians are responsible for ensuring technology in classrooms functions properly and for providing in-person assistance with audiovisual, projection, and computer systems when issues arise. Full training and ongoing support will be provided - no prior technical experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and the confidence to help on the spot.

Hours of Operation: *Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:45 PM *Tuesday, Thursday: 7:30 AM - 8:45 PM *Optional: 1 Saturday per month to support Walton professional program classes, *Respond promptly to in-class technology issues during scheduled hours *Troubleshoot common classroom technology problems (e.g., projectors, classroom PCs, microphones, and display systems) *Assist instructors in operating AV or computing equipment *Perform basic checks of classroom tech setups to ensure functionality before and between classes *Communicate unresolved technical problems to full-time support staff or escalate as necessary *Maintain a professional and helpful presence in classroom environments *Document incidents and support activities using provided reporting tools *Provide front office reception support *Support faculty and staff computers including new setup and troubleshooting existing issues as they arise *Other duties as assigned

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville
  • Comfortable entering classrooms during active sessions and providing in-the-moment support
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic familiarity with computers and AV equipment is helpful, but not required
  • Ability to learn and apply new technical knowledge quickly through training
  • Must be able to navigate between buildings and classrooms during assigned shifts
  • Available to commit to at least 1 opening shift per week
