Job description

We are hiring a Level II Non-Destructive Test Specialist to support Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ In-Service NDT team in Tukwila, Washington. This position combines NDT procedure development with hands-on inspection support using Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, or Radiographic Testing methods.

The specialist will prepare NDT procedures and technical illustrations, develop calibration-standard drawings, set up inspection equipment, evaluate test results, and provide emergent Level II support for Boeing aircraft throughout the Puget Sound region. The team supports commercial and defense aircraft, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, and B-1B., * Author Non-Destructive Test procedures for aircraft inspection and maintenance applications

  • Incorporate revisions prepared by the applicable Responsible Level III through the standard procedure-review process
  • Develop CAD drawings for specialized NDT calibration and reference standards
  • Set up NDT and measurement equipment using applicable calibration standards
  • Create procedure figures showing inspection locations, component geometry, accessibility, probe/transducer placement, and notch-signal response
  • Perform Level II NDT support using Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, or Radiographic Testing methods
  • Provide emergent inspection support for Boeing commercial aircraft throughout the Puget Sound region
  • Review inspection data and report adverse trends, anomalous indications, or unusual results
  • Maintain accurate inspection procedures, certification records, equipment information, and supporting technical documentation
  • Work in confined spaces when required to access aircraft inspection areas

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college in a related technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of combined education and work experience in Non-Destructive Inspection or Non-Destructive Testing
  • Current or previous experience working as a Level II NDT technician in Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, or Radiographic Testing
  • Ability to provide documentation of certified NDT training and experience hours
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends when operationally necessary
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 15%, * 5+ years of related NDT experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • NAS 410 or equivalent Level II certification in Eddy Current and Ultrasonic Testing, or Radiographic Testing
  • 1,200 hours of Ultrasonic Testing experience, including 400+ hours of shear-wave UT
  • 1,200 hours of Eddy Current Testing experience, including 400+ hours of low-frequency eddy current
  • 1,200 hours of Radiographic Testing experience
  • Experience using CAD software
  • Experience developing Ultrasonic Testing and Eddy Current Testing techniques or inspection procedures
  • Aircraft, aerospace, or aviation NDT experience

Pay Estimate: $35-$48/Hour First Shift 12-Month Contract, * Applicants selected for employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation, which may include education, criminal, and work history verifications.
