Job description

We are hiring an Experienced Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Level II Specialist in Tukwila, WA to support aerospace Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) and Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) activities for commercial and defense aircraft, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, and B-1B. This role supports NDT procedure development, CAD-based calibration standards, inspection equipment setup, and emergent Level II aircraft inspection using Eddy Current Testing (ET), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Radiographic Testing (RT)., * Author Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures supporting aircraft inspection requirements.

  • Incorporate revisions developed by the method Responsible Level III into the standard procedure review process.
  • Develop Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings for specialized NDT calibration standards.
  • Set up nondestructive test and measurement equipment according to applicable calibration standards.
  • Develop technical procedure figures detailing inspection locations, geometry, accessibility, probe/transducer placement, and notch signal response.
  • Provide emergent Level II NDT support for commercial aircraft across the Puget Sound region.
  • Identify and report potential adverse trends or anomalous inspection results.
  • Perform NDT/NDI activities in confined spaces as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of combined education and work experience in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
  • Current or previous experience performing in a Level II NDT Technician capacity using Eddy Current Testing (ET), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Radiographic Testing (RT) methods.
  • Ability to provide documentation of certified NDT hours.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required., * 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NAS 410 or equivalent Level II certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Radiographic Testing (RT).
  • 1,200 hours of Ultrasonic Testing (UT), including 400+ hours of Ultrasonic Shear-Wave Testing.
  • 1,200 hours of Eddy Current Testing (ET), including 400+ hours of Low-Frequency Eddy Current (LFEC).
  • 1,200 hours of Radiographic Testing (RT).
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Experience developing UT and ET techniques and nondestructive inspection procedures.
