- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Design, develop, and deliver engaging lessons in virtual reality (VR), game design, and interactive digital media tailored to students ages 7-18. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that introduce students to coding, game mechanics, immersive storytelling, and emerging technologies. VR instruction will primarily serve students ages 10 and up, while Game Design instruction will be tailored for students ages 7 and up.
- Student Engagement & Classroom Facilitation Create an inclusive, collaborative, and student-centered learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and active participation . Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences appropriate for varying age groups and skill levels
- Technical Setup & Equipment Management Operate and maintain VR hardware, gaming software, and related instructional technology. Troubleshoot technical issues as needed to ensure smooth classroom and lab experiences.
- Curriculum Development Collaborate with educational staff and program leadership to develop, enhance, and align VR and game design curriculum with STEM learning objectives and industry-relevant skills. Integrate immersive technologies into broader educational programming and project-based learning initiatives.
- Assessment & Student Feedback Monitor and evaluate student progress through projects, presentations, participation, and skill-based assessments. Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to encourage continuous growth and confidence in technical and creative abilities.
- Safety & Supervision Ensure the safe and responsible use of VR equipment and digital tools by enforcing established safety procedures, supervising all activities, and maintaining an organized instructional environment.
Game Design Instruction
Teach students the fundamentals of video game design, including:
- Gameplay mechanics
- Storytelling
- Level design
- Character development
- World-building
- Prototyping
- User experience concepts
Virtual Reality (VR) Instruction
Teach students the fundamentals of virtual reality design and development, including:
- Immersive environment creation
- 3D spatial design concepts
- Interactive storytelling and simulation design
- VR user interaction and navigation
- Virtual world-building
- Object interaction and basic physics concepts
- User experience (UX) and accessibility in VR environments
- Prototyping and testing immersive experiences
- Collaboration and creative problem-solving in virtual spaces
- Introduction to emerging VR technologies and applications in STEM, education, and gaming
Requirements
Do you have a valid Teaching Certification license?, Do you have experience in Working with children?, We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Virtual Reality (VR) and Game Design Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will design and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students through immersive VR technology and video game design instruction., * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Game Design, Interactive Media, or a related field
- Teaching certification is a plus
Experience
- Prior experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or working with adolescents
- Experience in a technology, gaming, STEM, or VR-related setting preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with VR hardware and software, including setup, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance
- Familiarity with gaming platforms, development tools, or interactive technology preferred
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong ability to connect with and motivate young learners
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and professionalism
Organizational Skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VR platforms such as Oculus or Meta Quest
- Background in programming, animation, digital design, or interactive media
- Familiarity with educational software and digital learning tools
- Experience facilitating project-based STEM learning
Working Conditions
- Part-time schedule with potential daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours
- Classroom and laboratory-style learning environments
- Ability to lift, set up, and operate VR equipment
- Potential participation in off-site educational events or field experiences
