Job description

Role summary: As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable software solutions by managing feature implementation, testing, and ongoing support within collaborative teams. You will apply advanced programming skills and technical judgment to design, develop, and maintain high-quality systems aligned with business objectives. This role involves integrating AI/ML components, driving continuous improvement, and mentoring peers. You will engage with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into effective solutions while ensuring operational excellence through proactive monitoring and adherence to best practices in software development and DevOps. About the team: The team leverages advanced analytical and modeling techniques to address complex business challenges. Utilizing Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks, members focus on model assessment, validation, and deployment. They collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights and data-driven solutions. Emphasizing rigorous statistical methods and effective data visualization, the team ensures clear communication of findings. Committed to continuous learning and innovation, they follow best practices and emerging technologies to deliver impactful results aligned with organizational goals. What you’ll do:

  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using multiple programming languages and drive full software development lifecycle including CI/CD deployments and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tool to improve development velocity.
  • Assist in solution design, participate in design reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable system.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Promote engineering excellence through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiative..

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong experience delivering scoped features through iterative development and collaborative engineering.
  • Proficiency in debugging, code review, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with platform objectives.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
  • Skilled in translating complex business requirements into technical solutions with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment and adaptability to evolving technologies and system contexts.
