Job description

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering, leads platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and roadmap milestones. This role oversees scalable infrastructure, tooling, and frameworks while driving full lifecycle software development across multiple teams. The position champions DevOps practices, cloud cost optimization, and technical excellence to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, the Senior Manager guides architectural decisions, mentors engineering talent, and manages complex initiatives to meet business objectives. This leadership role fosters continuous improvement and innovation within a dynamic technology environment.

About the team:

The retail services team develops and maintains core systems that deliver seamless omni-channel experiences with speed and reliability. This group manages payment processing, directed spend, and promotional campaigns while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Focused on scalable, multi-tenant, client-agnostic solutions, the team supports business and customer needs through agile collaboration. Emphasizing technical excellence, continuous improvement, and strong governance, members work together to solve complex challenges, drive innovation, and uphold high standards of quality and performance across all deliverables.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with domain priorities and roadmap milestones.
  • Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, and frameworks to support scalable, secure development and seamless system integration.
  • Drive full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, championing DevOps architecture and CI/CD practices.
  • Manage cloud cost optimization and enhance automation, telemetry, and tooling to reduce operational friction.
  • Mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and promote technical quality through rigorous testing and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of complex initiatives.
  • Foster continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and products.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in DevOps architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud financial management to optimize delivery and costs.
  • Strong skills in project and stakeholder management, ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps and milestone tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide architectural reviews and system design for scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
  • Proficiency in integrating AI/ML technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products.
  • Effective mentorship and leadership capabilities fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
