Manufacturing Solutions Architect

Duration:12 months; The typical schedule is 40 hours per week, with occasional off-hours support for critical issues. This is a remote, onshore role, with a preference for candidates in the Chicago area and approximately 5% travel.

• The ideal candidate will bring 8-11 years of experience designing and integrating manufacturing systems across enterprise IT and operational technology environments.
• Key experience should include ERP, MES, WMS, PLM, PLCs, SCADA, historians, industrial IoT, and shop-floor equipment, along with the ability to define end-to-end architectures, APIs, data flows, integration patterns, and scalable platforms across multiple plants or regions.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure that systems support the organization’s business requirements and meet the needs of end users.
• Defines systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
• Defines technical standards and functionality tests. May develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides.
• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and experience in the field or in a related area.
• Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Generally supports unique/rare skills or niche/emerging technologies, such as BIG Data, CRM, Enterprise Architect, SAP, and TIBCO.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
• Leads and directs the work of others.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
