Job description
- Develop subsystem-level test plans and reports for military vehicle components in accordance with MIL-STD-810, ATPD-2404, and ATPD-2167.
- Support execution of system-level military vehicle testing using applicable TOPs and ITOPs, including test setup, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Learn and apply required test equipment, procedures, and environmental test methods.
- Develop instrumentation plans and support data acquisition requirements for military vehicle programs.
- Design fixtures for mounting test articles and components on shaker tables.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, instrumentation, and test system issues.
- Coordinate test activities with Program Managers, engineering, Production Quality, Supply Chain Management, field engineering representatives, lab technicians, and subject matter experts.
- Tailor test plans to balance user safety, cost, schedule, technical requirements, and test value.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to resolve quality issues identified during testing.
- Create scopes of work for suppliers and other test-related activities.
- Order and track materials required to support test programs.
- Develop and maintain test schedules, resources, and test program priorities.
- Prepare high-level labor-hour and material-cost estimates for subsystem testing.
- Learn and use Earned Value Management System (EVMS) processes as required.
- Prepare weekly status reports and communicate program issues, needs, risks, and progress to management and project leadership.
- Coordinate recurring test-program meetings as needed to maintain schedule and execution progress.
- Assist technicians with new instrumentation technologies and test methods while collaborating on hands-on test execution and troubleshooting.
- Interface with U.S. Government customers and end users as required.
- Support LRU testing during weekend test windows when required to maintain program schedules.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, another technical discipline, or a related field.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and the ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics for troubleshooting.
- Experience using test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and data acquisition systems.
- Hands-on experience with soldering circuit cards or wiring, crimping pins, and building electrical harnesses.
- Experience with CAD or mechanical modeling software.
- Experience building, repairing, or troubleshooting mechanical and fluid systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to develop technical test plans, test reports, instrumentation documentation, schedules, estimates, and status reports.
- Ability to provide technical direction and coordinate test activities across engineering, program management, quality, supply chain, vendors, technicians, and other stakeholders., * Engineering or other technical work experience.
- Experience with military vehicle firing range and field testing.
- Experience with MIL-STD-810 environmental testing and military test procedures, including ATPD-2404, ATPD-2167, TOPs, and ITOPs.
- Experience with programming languages or script writing.
- Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
