Job description
As a Solution Engineer at VeilSun, you partner with sales and clients to translate business needs into clear, executable technical solutions. Acting as both a consultant and solution architect, you lead discovery and blueprint sessions, shape client vision, and design scalable solutions across low-code platforms, integrations, and AI.
You balance client goals, deal competitiveness, and delivery feasibility-ensuring solutions are well-scoped, achievable, and positioned for long-term success., Own the pre-sales solutioning process by defining clear, feasible, and high-impact solutions. Ensure alignment between client needs, technical architecture, and delivery expectations to set projects up for success., * Quality and clarity of solution design, scope, and estimates; reduction in scope gaps, rework, and change orders
- Effectiveness of discovery in uncovering true client needs; solutions are clearly defined, realistic, and aligned to client goals
- Alignment to delivery feasibility and architectural standards
- Seamless, well-defined handoff to delivery teams
- Deals are structured for both winability and successful delivery
- Risks are identified early and managed proactively
- Clients feel informed, confident, and guided-not sold to
- Contribution to win rates
- Future state delivery margin success based on estimate, risk, assumptions, and blueprint quality
What You Will Lead
- Lead discovery and blueprint sessions to understand business processes, challenges, and goals
- Design and scope solutions across low-code platforms (e.g., Quickbase, Mendix), APIs, and AI
- Define solution architecture, requirements, assumptions, timelines, and level-of-effort estimates
- Guide tradeoff decisions across scope, cost, timeline, and complexity
- Structure engagements to align with budgets while enabling phased, long-term value
- Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps early and address proactively
- Partner with sales to shape opportunities, articulate value, and support deal strategy
- Evaluate client ecosystems and position solutions within broader business context
- Support client conversations, presentations, and technical discussions
- Continuously improve solutioning frameworks, estimation practices, and reusable assets
- Stay current on platforms, emerging technologies, and industry trends
- Represent VeilSun at events and conferences to support pipeline growth
Decision Authority
- Define solution approach, architecture, and scope
- Shape deal structure, including assumptions
- Make tradeoffs to balance feasibility, cost, and client goals
- Challenge client requests that introduce risk or misalignment
- Recommend whether to pursue, reshape, or decline opportunities
- Apply appropriate depth in pre-sales solutioning-defining clear assumptions, boundaries, and scope to create accurate estimates without over- or under-engineering prior to delivery

- Failure to challenge risky assumptions, * 3-6+ years in solution engineering, consulting, or similar client-facing technical roles
- Experience with low-code platforms (Quickbase, Mendix, Power Apps, etc.)
- Strong understanding of system architecture, business processes, and integrations
- Experience leading discovery and defining requirements and SOWs
- Familiarity with API and AI solution design
- Working knowledge of Procore preferred
- Ability to scope work and develop accurate estimates
- Experience partnering with sales on deal strategy
- Understanding of delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Benefits & conditions
The base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000, depending on experience, plus incentive compensation.
