Job description

As a COSA, you will be part of a tight-knit team reporting to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO), responsible for daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of C2BMC systems. You will be on the front lines of technical support for the warfighter, ensuring critical systems, networks, and services are available whenever they’re needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform real-time system monitoring and operations of C2BMC systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment

  • Provide first-level technical support to the warfighter, including initial troubleshooting of local C2BMC hardware, software, and network issues

  • Document, track, and report events/issues to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO); execute tasking and direction from the C2BMC Command Center (CCC) for operations, test, and real-world events

  • Assist with hardware and software installations as directed by local SMEs

  • Create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO, following established cybersecurity and access-control practices

  • Collaborate with system and network administrators to maintain a stable, secure, and high-availability environment

  • Perform other duties and assignments as required in support of mission readiness

Requirements

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

  • Applicants must have a current, active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, SecurityX, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their 8140 certifications throughout the entire contract period

  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start, with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Demonstrated background and experience in operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environments

  • Experience in system and/or network administration, to include some combination of: UNIX / Linux, Windows, Cisco, Juniper

  • Strong experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components in an operational environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • A rotating 24×7 shift schedule (12-hour shifts) is required. Mission needs will determine the specific shift, and additional off-shift coverage (nights/weekends) may be required on a substitute-rotation basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with a current, active in-scope Government-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application are highly preferred, with the eligibility to be read on to SCI clearance

Experience and knowledge of C2BMC or other Missile Defense Systems

Prior experience in a 24x7 operations/watch-floor or command-and-control environment

Familiarity with DoD cyber, network operations, or missile defense mission

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
