Job description

Maintain database environments that consistently meet or exceed availability and performance targets.

  • Deliver scalable database solutions that support evolving business and application requirements.

  • Improve application efficiency through database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

  • Proactively identify and resolve database issues, reducing outages and performance degradation.

  • Ensure databases meet established recovery and continuity objectives, including SLA, RPO, and RTO commitments.

  • Implement and validate backup and recovery strategies to protect critical business data.

  • Execute database upgrades and migrations while minimizing risk, downtime, and operational impact.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and standards to support compliance, audits, and knowledge transfer.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects and technology initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, mentoring, and adoption of emerging database technologies, One of Insight Global’s clients is looking for a Sr DBA to come join there team this individual will be responsible for the design, administration, security, and optimization of the organization’s database environment to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability. This role oversees database architecture, implements backup and disaster recovery strategies, monitors system performance, and ensures compliance with established SLAs, RPOs, and RTOs. They will work closely with IT leadership, developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders. This Individual will also deliver scalable database solutions, resolves complex technical issues, and supports upgrades, migrations, and automation initiatives. Additionally, they will establish best practices, mentor junior DBAs, maintains technical documentation, and drives continuous improvement through the evaluation and adoption of emerging database technologies. The target pay for this role is $60-$70hr

Requirements

8-10 years of DB experience.

  • Strong experience supporting Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.

  • Extensive hands-on expertise with Oracle, DB2 UDB, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.

  • Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills.

  • Deep understanding of relational database architecture, design, and optimization.

  • Proven experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Pluses:

  • Financial Industry Experience

  • Experience with ExaCC (Exadata Cloud@ Customer)

  • Applicable Certifications
