Job description
As the Global Rights System Administrator at Calming Pot, you will play a crucial role in managing our music catalog’s rights and royalties across various territories worldwide. You will work closely with our legal team, artists, and distributors to ensure accurate and timely processing of rights-related data and payments. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of music rights management systems., Administer and maintain our global rights management system, ensuring accurate data entry and management of music rights information.
Coordinate the registration of music compositions and sound recordings with collecting societies and rights organisations worldwide.
Monitor and track music usage and revenue streams across digital platforms, streaming services, and other distribution channels.
Process incoming royalty statements and distribute payments to artists, songwriters, and other rights holders in accordance with contractual agreements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and artist relations teams, to resolve rights-related issues and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Stay informed about changes in copyright law, licensing regulations, and industry standards related to music rights management.
Generate reports and provide analysis on music rights data, including revenue trends, rights ownership, and royalty distributions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience in music rights administration, preferably within a record label or music publishing company.
Strong understanding of music copyright law, licensing agreements, and royalty structures.
Familiarity with music rights management systems and databases (e.g., Music Maestro, RightsFlow, TuneRegistry).
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced startup environment.
