Job description

As our new Digital Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping the continued development of Cromwell’s B2B eCommerce platform. Sitting at the heart of our Digital team, you’ll turn complex business needs into clear, delivery-ready requirements that enable our development and QA teams to build, test and release with confidence., Working closely with Product Owners, developers, QA, UX/UI and stakeholders from across Cromwell, you’ll lead requirement discussions, challenge ambiguity and translate ideas into high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria. This is a hands-on role for an experienced Business Analyst who enjoys getting into the detail, solving complex problems and making a tangible difference to the digital experience we provide our customers., * Lead structured requirement-gathering sessions and workshops with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, designers and QA teams.

  • Translate business requirements into clear, INVEST-compliant user stories with detailed Gherkin-syntax acceptance criteria.
  • Break down complex requirements into appropriately sized stories, identifying dependencies, edge cases and potential gaps before development begins.
  • Maintain high standards of backlog readiness, ensuring requirements are clear, complete and ready for estimation and delivery.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams throughout delivery, supporting defect triage, clarification and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and proactively resolve requirements questions, blockers and ambiguity throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within a digital or technology delivery environment.
  • Demonstrable experience creating INVEST-compliant user stories and Gherkin-syntax acceptance criteria using Given/When/Then.
  • Strong requirements elicitation skills, with experience leading workshops and turning complex information into clear, actionable requirements.
  • eCommerce experience and a strong understanding of areas such as product catalogues, pricing, checkout, order management and customer accounts.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, with a good understanding of sprint ceremonies and backlog management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, identify gaps and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience within B2B eCommerce, eProcurement integrations such as PunchOut, EDI, SAP Ariba or Coupa, API requirements, SQL, AWS or AI-enabled digital products would be particularly advantageous.
