Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a foundational hire on our brand-new ML/AI direction at Solidgate - you’ll be one of the first engineers building the function from the ground up, working directly with the Head of ML to shape it.

You’ll help stand up the ML/AI direction from scratch - on top of 20M+ orders and 100M+ transactions a month. The next big step is a recommendation engine and a real-time system that decides which acquiring bank routes each transaction. That’s the space you’ll be building in.

What You Will Own

• Design and build core ML models and pipelines as part of a true greenfield direction, not a maintenance handover

• A real-time ML decisioning system with direct revenue impact

• A recommendation engine and other ML-driven features that lift merchant conversion and revenue

• Hands-on experimentation - from idea, through A/B testing, to production

• Integrations of cutting-edge AI technologies to drive innovation

• Close partnership with Product, Engineering, and the Data Platform team (who handle ML Ops) to solve hard modelling problems and build orchestrated training and analytics pipelines

• Clear communication of technical results to both engineers and cross-functional stakeholders

4-5+ years in ML, with hands-on production experience

• Track record of shipping ML models end-to-end, from idea to production, in a real product environment

• Strong data science fundamentals; a degree in a quantitative discipline is a plus

• Hands-on experience designing and running experiments, plus A/B testing and experimentation design

• Feature engineering on high-cardinality transactional data

• Proactive and self-driven, comfortable working closely with a wide range of stakeholders
