Job description
Developing best-in-class websites
- You’ll be working closely with our designers and other developers to build web projects ranging from ‘brochure’ websites through to e-commerce and web platforms.
- You’ll engage with other team members and clients to assess the feasibility of projects and estimate the right approach and timeframes.
Requirements
Due to our agency’s growth we are looking for an ambitious full stack WordPress Developer to join our team. We are looking for a mid-senior level developer, with a minimum of 3 years experience in WordPress development.
This role is a full-time, work-from-home role.
You’ll join our team of in-house developers and designers, along with our client-facing team of directors, project managers and digital marketing professionals, to work with us on delivering best-in-class websites for our clients.
We are looking for someone who’s forward-thinking, open-minded and loves to solve problems in order to deliver great digital products., * Essential: Strong experience of writing clean, minimal HTML
- Essential: Strong experience with CSS, including modern CSS 3 properties
- Essential: Good understanding of SCSS (or some alternative such as LESS)
- Essential: Good understanding of JavaScript and jQuery
- Essential: Experience with Tailwind CSS
- Bonus: Experience with AlpineJS
- Bonus: Experience with React (or other frameworks such as Vue)
- Bonus: Experience with Twig templating language (or alternatives such as Blade)
Backend skills:
- Essential: Strong experience with object oriented PHP
- Essential: Strong experience of building WordPress themes from scratch
- Essential: Good understanding of Advanced Custom Fields plugin
- Essential: Good understanding of using Git for version control
- Essential: Some experience of building custom WooCommerce sites
- Bonus: Some experience of extending WordPress/WooCommerce with custom functionality, without relying on third party plugins
- Bonus: Experience with Timber WordPress framework
- Bonus: Experience with developing API integrations with third party software
- Bonus: Experience with dependency managers such as Composer and NPM
- Bonus: Experience with managing hosting accounts using cPanel/WHM
- Bonus: Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments
The bonus points above would be useful, but can be taught on the job so are not essential.
