Job description

  • Serve as the on-site Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for technical transfer projects, leading and coordinating all project activities across process, technology, analytics, capacity, and manufacturing functions.
  • Build, lead, and inspire cross-functional project teams, driving alignment, setting priorities, and ensuring compliance with Novartis, GMP, and HSE standards.
  • Develop and execute robust project strategies and site plans, proactively identifying risks, overcoming challenges, and implementing effective mitigation plans.
  • Evaluate site resource requirements and manage project planning, including FTEs, batch costs, investments, timelines, and overall project strategy.
  • Lead technical feasibility assessments and supply point evaluations in close partnership with key stakeholders, defining the scope and design of technical transfer batches.
  • Drive change management activities by initiating and coordinating local change controls to ensure timely approval and successful implementation.
  • Ensure the availability and quality of technical documentation in line with Novartis requirements, including Manufacturing Process Transfer Protocols and Reports.
  • Champion continuous improvement by establishing best practices, optimizing transfer processes, and contributing to the development of local procedures and templates.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, technical transfer management, Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T), technical development, or quality functions.
  • Comprehensive know-how in biotechnology processes with proven experience successfully executing process transfers.
  • Degree (MSc or PhD) in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong project management experience with the ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders and functions.
  • Open-minded, adaptable, and resilient, with a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are considered an advantage.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with drug substance manufacturing, large molecule products (proteins), and cell culture processes.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, digital solutions, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance innovation and ways of working.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role:

  • Austria: EUR 66.918,00 - 112.600,00

The salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters. Further details will be provided during the application process.
