Job description

Are you passionate about software testing, test automation, and application quality? Then this role is for you.

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, executing, and automating tests across different applications to ensure their quality before deployment to subsequent environments.

Build side:

  • Write test plans, test strategies, and test scenarios based on existing documentation, application functionalities, and User Story acceptance criteria.
  • Define the tests to be performed, including functional, non-functional, integration, and regression tests, based on identified risks.
  • Prepare or create the test data required for test execution.
  • Identify, together with the team, the test cases to be integrated into an automated test suite.
  • Develop and maintain test automation.
  • Maintain and regularly execute automated test suites.
  • Contribute to quality validation before moving from the test environment to the acceptance environment.

Run side:

  • Execute test plans and test scenarios and document test results.
  • Collect and maintain test evidence, including logs and screenshots.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on defects using bug-tracking tools.
  • Update test documentation based on test results and identified defects.
  • Analyse and reproduce defects identified in acceptance or production environments when required.
  • Produce reporting on testing activities and progress.
  • Collaborate with developers and the project lead to achieve the expected quality level.
  • Provide the Go for deployment from the test environment to the acceptance environment when the required quality conditions are met.

Requirements

You have proven experience in test design, writing test plans and test scenarios, as well as in test execution and automation.

You have experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team., * Regression testing

  • Test automation
  • Programming or scripting experience, particularly Python, or the ability to explain programming logic using pseudocode
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and related queries
  • Understanding of technical concepts such as APIs, Web Services, protocols, frontend, backend, client applications, and services
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Robot Framework experience is an asset
  • RabbitMQ experience is a major plus
  • Experience with DevOps tickets is a plus
  • Experience in security testing is a plus

Languages

  • English: Professional working proficiency - mandatory English is the main working language of the team, and all testing documentation is written in English.

  • French and/or Dutch: Knowledge required
