Job description

The Manager, Software Engineering leads the front-end and back-end Moveworks solution engineering team within HR Products, responsible for the platforms that power Employee Services for over 200,000 Walt Disney Company employees. You will own engineering delivery, platform support, and technical execution for Moveworks., You will manage a team of 4-6 Solution and Software Engineers, plus a team of off-shore and near-shore managed service resources providing platform support. You report directly to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep AI expertise, a track record of building scalable solutions, and a genuine commitment to growing engineering talent.

Requirements

2+ years experience managing or coordinating offshore and nearshore managed service teams.

  • \n Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions. \n

  • \n Lead code reviews, testing, and deployment of enterprise-grade features. \n

  • \n Align roadmaps and resolve delivery issues across teams and domains. \n

Strategy and Engineering Standards

  • \n In partnership with the Sr. Manager, set the vision for Moveworks engineering strategy, balancing platform modernization with stability. \n

  • \n Champion agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban) to drive consistent, value-focused output. \n

  • \n Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues and architectural decisions. \n

  • \n Communicate technical progress, risks, and delivery status clearly to Technology Leadership, Product and business stakeholders. \n

  • \n Moveworks operate with high availability and a clear, prioritized engineering roadmap. \n

  • \n Offshore and nearshore managed service teams operate within defined SLAs with clear accountability, and consistent delivery quality. \n

  • \n Product and People and Culture stakeholders view engineering as a reliable, innovative and technically credible delivery partner. \n

  • \n At least one platform initiative launched that measurably improves the employee experience. \n
