Job description

Growing that fast and thriving comes down to our people. Our team is our biggest asset and one that we’re proud of. We’re committed to maintaining our vibrant culture as we continue to grow. About the Job:

  • You will work closely with hardware, multiple software layers, and product teams, bringing embedded software perspective into decisions that shape the full stack, not just your own layer.
  • You’ll own what you build end-to-end, from first implementation to a working, well-understood system that the next engineer can confidently build on.
  • Help raise the bar on code quality through thoughtful reviews, shared learnings, and building standards forward together with the team. This is a full-time position - 4 days at our lovely office in Amsterdam & 1 day remote per week.

Requirements

  • You’ve worked on embedded software products which run in the real world. You know that speed without structure creates technical debt, and you’ve built the habits to prevent it. You care about the craft, the architecture, and the product it powers.
  • You bring 3+ years of embedded software development, primarily in C and C++. You’ve worked hands-on with microcontrollers like STM32, built features from requirements through production, and extended existing codebases without breaking what’s already there.
  • You’re comfortable in both RTOS-based and bare-metal environments, and you debug embedded systems with patience and precision.
  • You have experience with multiple embedded software test levels (from unit test to system-level testing).
  • You write clear technical documentation, and you are able to present your work clearly to other engineers.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field (EQF 6+)
  • You’re fluent in English.
  • You’re based in the Netherlands or able to relocate independently, and you’re eligible to work here without visa sponsorship (we’re not registered IND sponsors). Even better if you’ve

  • Worked with TouchGFX or other (embedded) GUI frameworks.
  • Built or improved embedded development toolchains and workflows.
  • Set up testing frameworks and test automation for embedded software.

Benefits & conditions

You will be part of a young, fun and ambitious team which aims to change the way people consume water!

A salary between 51-84k yearly based on experience (incl. 8% holiday allowance)

26 paid holiday days

About the company

We’re a smart hydration company rebuilding an industry that still runs on sugar water and single-use packaging. Filtered water, functional flavors, zero bottles. Still, sparkling, cold, and hot. All poured from one tap. We create hydration people want to reach for, starting with the workplace where we help teams thrive.

As an AI-native company, we build at speed. In 2025, Aquablu ranked 2nd in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 (Netherlands) and 30th in the Sifted 250 (Europe), both rankings of the fastest-growing companies by revenue growth. In 2026 we were named a winner of Maya’s Culture 100 Europe Awards as one of the best workplaces to thrive in.
