Job description

Ferny is seeking a hands-on healthcare technology leader to implement clinical systems, data, analytics, integrations, AI, and patient-experience initiatives for a rapidly growing healthcare organization.

The Director will turn approved priorities into completed implementations, coordinating stakeholders and vendors from evaluation through deployment, adoption, and ongoing operation.

ResponsibilitiesEMR and clinical applications

· Execute the EMR RFP, vendor evaluation, demonstrations, scoring, reference checks, and recommendation process.

· Manage implementation through configuration, data migration, integrations, testing, training, cutover, and stabilization.

· Maintain project schedules, risks, dependencies, readiness criteria, and contingency plans.

· Own clinical applications after launch, including vendor management, releases, enhancements, adoption, and optimization.

Data and integrations

· Implement integrations among the EMR, laboratories, billing systems, clearinghouses, patient platforms, analytics tools, and call-center systems.

· Coordinate HL7, FHIR, API, SFTP, interface-engine, and file-based integrations.

· Maintain mappings, test plans, reconciliation procedures, monitoring, and documentation.

· Establish standards for data definitions, lineage, patient matching, access, quality, and authoritative sources.

Analytics

· Deliver trusted dashboards and reports using SQL, data warehouses, and BI tools.

· Validate metrics with clinical, operational, financial, and marketing stakeholders.

· Support reporting for provider and site performance, patient conversion, wait times, notes completion, billing, marketing, call-center activity, and patient satisfaction.

AI implementation

· Implement approved AI solutions for clinical documentation, billing, prior authorization, call-center operations, and related workflows.

· Coordinate vendors, BAAs, security reviews, integrations, testing, training, and rollout.

· Establish controls for PHI, access, accuracy, human review, auditability, and clinical risk.

· Track adoption, quality, operational impact, and cost.

Patient-experience technology

· Deliver technology for scheduling, registration, communications, forms, records, laboratory results, education, and portal access.

· Coordinate operational, clinical, design, development, integration, and vendor workstreams.

· Lead testing, rollout, adoption, and performance measurement.

Program and vendor delivery

· Convert approved initiatives into projects, milestones, owners, and acceptance criteria.

· Track deliverables, risks, budgets, vendor commitments, invoices, and change requests.

· Hold vendors accountable for implementation quality, documentation, support, and knowledge transfer.

· Provide concise status reporting to the Interim CTO and escalate blockers early.

Requirements

· 7+ years of healthcare technology, clinical systems, data, or implementation experience.

· Experience delivering a significant EMR evaluation and implementation or migration.

· Knowledge of healthcare workflows, HL7, FHIR, APIs, data migration, SQL, and BI platforms.

· Experience implementing third-party healthcare or AI products.

· Strong program- and vendor-management skills.

· Working knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare data governance, privacy, and clinical risk.

· Ability to validate technical work while coordinating specialized vendors and resources.

· Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

· Experience in a startup or rapidly growing healthcare organization.

· Experience with multi-site physician practices, eClinicalWorks, fertility or REI workflows, laboratory integrations, clearinghouses, or revenue-cycle systems.

Work expectations

· Full-time and onsite in Midtown Manhattan.

· Travel to clinical locations as needed.

· Some after-hours availability for planned cutovers, go-lives, and critical application incidents.
