Job description

  • Build and maintain referral relationships with insurance carriers and adjusters, general contractors, demolition and restoration companies, property managers, and environmental consultants.
  • Grow the accounts and partnerships we already have, while opening new ones.
  • Represent Environmental Remedies in person - at partner offices, on job sites, and at construction conventions and industry events.
  • Become the first call a partner makes when hazardous material turns up on their project.
  • Understand each opportunity well enough to hand it off cleanly: scope, timeline, site conditions, and who makes the decision.
  • Schedule qualified job walks and site visits for our Estimator and Project Manager team, with notes clear enough for them to pick up where you left off.
  • Stay in touch with partners who have nothing active today, so we are the first name they give when they do.
  • Keep your partner records, activity, and referral pipeline accurate and current.
  • Report on your pipeline and referral volume against agreed targets.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in B2B business development, sales, or account management.
  • A track record of generating business through relationships and referrals rather than high-volume cold outreach.
  • Strong in-person communication skills; comfortable with contractors, adjusters, superintendents, and field crews.
  • Organized and self-directed, with the discipline to manage your own follow-ups without being chased.
  • Reliable daily transportation and a valid California driver’s license with a clean record - this is a field-based role with regular travel between partner offices, job sites, and events.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and standard record-keeping tools., * An existing network in insurance - carriers, adjusters, agents, claims, or insurance-adjacent sales. A significant share of our work comes through insurance, and that network transfers directly to this role.
  • Established relationships with general contractors, restoration companies, or property managers in Southern California.
  • Experience in construction, environmental services, restoration, or another project-based industry., * Familiarity with asbestos, lead, mold, or other hazardous materials.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
  • Experience working in a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, environmental science, or a related field.

Reporting and Team

  • Reports to the CRO.
  • Works alongside our Estimators and Project Managers, branch superintendents, and project coordinators.

About the company

At Environmental Remedies, we protect people and the environment by safely cleaning up hazardous sites across California. We are looking for a Business Development Representative to build and deepen the partner relationships that bring us work - with insurance companies, general contractors, restoration firms, and property managers across Southern California.

This is a relationship-driven role, not a cold-calling one. When a contractor opens a wall on a remodel and finds asbestos, or an adjuster picks up a claim involving hazardous material, they cannot touch the work themselves - someone has to be recommended. Your job is to make sure that someone is us. You will do that in person: visiting contractor and carrier offices, walking job sites, working industry events, and staying in front of the partners who already know you.

You do not need to know asbestos abatement on day one - we will teach you the work. What matters most is that you are a genuine people person who earns trust quickly and keeps relationships warm over time.
