Head of Advancement Data

As Head of Advancement Data, you will lead the strategy and development of UCL Advancement’s data and technology ecosystem, ensuring our CRM, systems and data services enable world-class fundraising and alumni engagement. You’ll oversee our data platforms, champion robust governance and data quality, and lead the continuous improvement of our systems to ensure colleagues have confidence in the information they rely on every day.

Working closely with stakeholders across Advancement, you’ll build trusted relationships, helping colleagues embrace new ways of working and demonstrating the value of high-quality, reliable data. You’ll also lead a talented team responsible for delivering user-focused services, systems enhancements and innovative data solutions that support UCL’s ambitious philanthropic goals.

We are happy to consider applications to work on a part-time/flexible basis wherever possible (minimum 0.8 FTE - equivalent of 4 days per week, stated salary to be pro rata).

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site., You’ll be an experienced CRM or data systems leader with a strong track record of managing enterprise CRM platforms and improving data quality within a complex organisation. You’ll ideally have hands-on experience of Blackbaud CRM; however, we’ll also welcome applicants with significant experience of Raiser’s Edge or another comparable fundraising CRM, alongside the aptitude and enthusiasm to quickly develop expertise in Blackbaud CRM.

You’ll understand that successful data management is as much about people as technology. You’ll be confident building relationships across an organisation, influencing stakeholders, and bringing colleagues on the journey by demonstrating the value of accurate, trusted data and effective governance.

You’ll have experience leading data governance initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring data quality, integrity and compliance. Alongside your technical knowledge of CRM systems, databases, SQL and system integrations, you’ll be an engaging people leader who enjoys developing high-performing teams and delivering services that put users at the heart of everything you do.
