Job description

Clearance Required- Existing DoD, Public Trust or Secret clearance (or can obtain one), We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer / Database Architect to support the development, modernization, and ongoing maintenance of mission-critical enterprise applications and Oracle database environments., * Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and related database components.

  • Analyze existing Oracle database environments and recommend architectural and design improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex database and application issues, including performance and data-related problems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs used to integrate enterprise applications and external data sources.
  • Support integrations between Oracle databases, APIs, and custom enterprise applications.
  • Work with Java-based applications that serve as ingestion points for certain APIs.
  • Support Oracle database environments hosted on Linux servers.
  • Participate in application security and code-quality activities, including monthly PL/SQL code scans using Fortify or similar static code analysis tools.
  • Track development activities, defects, enhancements, and project work through Jira.
  • Work within ServiceNow for incident, request, and ticket management.
  • Support applications and integrations involving government financial and employee spending data.
  • Collaborate with application developers, database administrators, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Follow established development, security, documentation, testing, and change-management standards.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development experience, along with strong database architecture and data modeling expertise. This individual will be responsible for developing and troubleshooting complex PL/SQL packages and procedures, improving existing database designs, developing APIs, and supporting integrations with enterprise applications.

This position supports systems within a government environment, so candidates with recent federal government or government contracting experience are strongly preferred. A Tier 3 background investigation completed within the past two years is highly desirable due to system and database access requirements., * 5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience.

  • Extensive hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting:
  • PL/SQL packages
  • Stored procedures
  • Functions
  • Complex SQL queries
  • Oracle database objects
  • 3+ years of database architecture/design experience.
  • Strong experience designing and/or redesigning existing relational databases.
  • 2-5 years of API development experience.
  • Experience integrating APIs with databases and enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with Linux-based database servers.
  • Experience supporting complex, enterprise-scale applications and database environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application, integration, database, and data-related issues.
  • Ability to work effectively within structured development and change-management environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Fortify or comparable static application security/code-scanning tools.
  • Experience with Jira for software development tracking.
  • Working knowledge of Java, particularly applications used as API ingestion or integration points.
  • Familiarity with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and travel-related data.
  • Experience supporting applications involving financial auditing, expense management, or government employee spending.
  • Previous federal government or government contracting experience.
  • CompTIA Security certification is a plus but is not required.

Background Investigation / Access Requirements

  • A Tier 3 background investigation completed within the past two years is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with recent federal government or government contracting experience are highly desirable.
  • Due to the nature of the environment, candidates without a recent qualifying background investigation may experience a significant delay in obtaining required database and system access.
