Job description

SAIC is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support a mission-critical program. This role is 100% remote, with preference for candidates located in Charleston, SC or Stafford, VA. The candidate will design, configure, and secure enterprise network solutions in alignment with DoD requirements., * Design, implement, and manage large-scale enterprise network architectures, including LAN, WAN, routing, and switching.

  • Configure and optimize network devices to ensure secure, efficient performance while meeting mission requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including RMF, STIGs, and IAVM guidelines.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, implement mitigations, and validate cybersecurity controls.
  • Configure and manage dynamic routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) and support backhaul technologies for communication systems like Land Mobile Radio (LMR).
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, topology maps, and engineering documentation using tools like Microsoft Visio.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance using diagnostic tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds.
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise-grade networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls).
  • Serve as a technical liaison, reporting progress and providing solutions to stakeholders.

Requirements

?Required Education and Work Experience:

  • BS degree and nine (9) years of experience; four (4) additional years in lieu of degree.
  • Expertise in large-scale enterprise network architectures, DoD-specific standards (e.g., RMF, STIGs, JIE), and dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with advanced network hardware from vendors like Cisco and Juniper.
  • Skilled in creating detailed documentation and using diagnostic tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds).

Required Security Clearance:

  • No clearance required to start, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Navy or USMC networks or Federal IT environments.
  • Knowledge of communication systems like Land Mobile Radio (LMR).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support diverse operational environments.

Benefits & conditions

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
