PowerBI / Data Developer with Dynamics365 Finance & Ops - Mid to Senior

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to support a public-sector engagement focused on enhancing and stabilizing Power BI reporting built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance data. The role involves improving existing reports, developing prioritized new dashboards, and ensuring data accuracy, usability, and consistency within a lean, fixed-price delivery model.

Work will be primarily remote, with occasional onsite workshops in Virginia for key milestones. The developer will collaborate with business stakeholders (~15 users), a Dynamics 365 team from the existing contractors where needed., * Design, develop, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to business priorities

• Build and optimize data models, DAX measures, and transformations
• Stabilize and improve dataset refreshes (primarily daily or scheduled)
• Update and refine existing reports and data models, not just create new ones
• Integrate and validate data from Dynamics 365 and limited external sources
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct validation cycles, and incorporate feedback
• Improve report usability, navigation, and accessibility (filters, drill-through, multi-report views)
• Support development in sandbox/dev workspaces and promote to production using structured processes
• Ensure alignment with data governance, security, and access controls

Do you have experience in Teamwork?, * 4-7+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop & Service)

• Strong experience in data modeling, DAX, and Power Query
• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 data (Finance preferred but not mandatory)
• Proficiency in SQL and data validation/reconciliation techniques
• Experience working with incomplete or decentralized data models and improving consistency
• Ability to work independently in a lean delivery team with minimal overhead
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Exposure to financial or operational reporting (GL, projects, assets, expenses)
• Experience in data governance, data quality, or audit/regulatory environments
• Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
• Experience working in public sector or regulated environments, * US Citizenship or Green Card is required. Are you a US Citizen or Green Card ?
