Full Stack Developer

The Full Stack Developer will play a key role in shaping Dority & Manning’s technological landscape, responsible for the entire end-to-end software development lifecycle. Partnering with key stakeholders, this role will maximize the value of existing software while engineering new tools and workflows to boost operational efficiency and minimize risk. The work will involve designing user-friendly interfaces and building robust back-end systems, directly influencing our client portals, internal automation, and integrations with external databases. Additionally, this position will oversee firmwide automation strategies, pioneering the use of custom Large Language Model (LLM) integrations to drive advanced operational efficiencies across all departments., End-to-End Application Development

• Manage the complete software development lifecycle, from conceptualizing user requirements with various internal team members to deploying and maintaining robust, scalable applications.
• Build clean, responsive, and intuitive interfaces that simplify complex IP data visualization for all users.
• Design and optimize secure server-side logic and databases specifically structured to handle highly sensitive intellectual property information.
• Write and execute comprehensive unit tests and debugging protocols to ensure zero-fail functionality in a high-stakes legal environment.

Workflow Automation and AI

• Oversee and direct firmwide automation efforts, acting as the primary technical lead for identifying and executing efficiency-driving initiatives across all departments.
• Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered automations using custom coding (e.g., integrating OpenAI/Azure OpenAI APIs) to intelligently process legal texts, extract data, and streamline complex workflows.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify manual data entry tasks and procedural bottlenecks.
• Leverage the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) to rapidly deploy internal business tools, automated approval chains, and document generation workflows.
• Develop and deploy custom scripts or applications to automate document generation, deadline tracking, and reporting, among others.
• Build “bridge” scripts in Python and Azure Functions to automate the flow of data between SQL databases, Outlook, Teams, and third-party IP systems.
• Continuously iterate internal tools to reduce time waste and improve the accuracy of legal data across departments.

Systems Integration

• Design and implement secure APIs and logic to interface with external legal databases and third-party portals.
• Ensure seamless data flow between proprietary tools and existing firm systems (e.g., Document Management Systems, docketing systems, accounting software).
• Manage the secure import/export of large datasets from external vendors or government entities into internal repositories., The following compensation range applies only to candidates working in the state of Washington. The compensation range for the Full Stack Developer role is $130,000 to $190,000. The actual salary will reflect a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, and other business needs.

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of progressive full-stack development experience.
• 2+ years of experience operating in a Lead or Solo Developer capacity, taking full ownership of technical decision-making and project delivery., * Hands-on experience managing and deploying applications within Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, Key Vault, and Blob Storage).
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) to rapidly deploy internal business tools and approval workflows.
• Demonstrated experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into production environments via custom code (e.g., API integration, prompt engineering, or frameworks like LangChain).
• Strong Python skills for data processing, API development, and automation scripts.
• Proven ability to lead, strategize, and oversee automation projects on a firmwide scale.
• Advanced SQL proficiency; ability to design complex relational schemas, write stored procedures, and optimize query performance for legal data sets.
• Firm understanding of Azure security identity and access management (Entra ID/Active Directory) to ensure privileged legal data remains protected.
