Cost Accountant (SAP)

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Operations Finance, this role is responsible for standard costing, inventory valuation, financial reporting, month end close, variance analysis, and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical accounting professional who enjoys partnering cross functionally to drive operational and financial improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve cost collection and standard costing processes.
• Manage inventory valuation, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
• Perform month end close activities including WIP, inventory, reserves, and variance analysis.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, gross margins, and operational performance.
• Prepare internal financial reports and ad hoc analysis for leadership.
• Support SOX compliance, audits, and internal controls.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and ERP system enhancements.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with SAP or similar ERP experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
