Senior Specialist, Applications, EDM

The Senior Specialist, Applications, EDM serves as a fully qualified technical professional and subject matter expert for EDM products, applications, and machining solutions. This role provides advanced sales and application support by leveraging comprehensive knowledge of EDM technologies, customer processes, and market requirements. The position independently evaluates complex customer application challenges, develops innovative solutions, and serves as a trusted advisor to customers, distributor partners, and internal stakeholders. Through technical expertise, problem-solving, and relationship management, the Senior Specialist supports business growth, customer success, and strategic sales objectives.

What you’ll do:

1. Technical Sales Support * Provides advanced technical sales and application support for EDM markets requiring specialized expertise to secure, maintain, and expand business opportunities. * Independently assesses customer manufacturing processes, technical requirements, and application challenges to develop effective machining solutions. * Identifies and pursues new sales conversion opportunities through technical consultation, application analysis, and value-based solution recommendations. * Serves as the primary technical contact for customers requiring sophisticated application support, troubleshooting, and process optimization. * Provides onsite technical assistance to customers, distributors, and sales teams to support product implementation, performance improvement, and issue resolution. * Utilizes sound judgment and analytical problem-solving skills to evaluate application data, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. * Collaborates with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service teams to address customer requirements and achieve business objectives. * Influences customer decision-making by clearly communicating technical benefits, product capabilities, and application recommendations.

2. Technical Product Information * Maintains comprehensive knowledge of EDM products, machining applications, manufacturing processes, and industry trends. * Applies specialized technical expertise to evaluate unique customer situations and determine appropriate solutions where standard approaches may not be sufficient. * Conducts competitive product evaluations, application analysis, and market assessments to support strategic sales initiatives. * Develops and supports technical documentation, application guides, sales tools, and customer-facing technical resources. * Provides recommendations for product enhancements and market opportunities based on customer feedback, industry developments, and application experience. * Serves as a technical resource and advisor for internal teams on complex application matters.

3. Overall Support and Quality Focus * Performs additional duties as assigned to support overall organizational objectives. * Participates in Entegris’ continuous quality improvement process and dedication to customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of related technical, applications, manufacturing, or industrial sales experience, with demonstrated expertise in EDM machining applications and customer support.

• Comprehensive knowledge of EDM products, machining technologies, manufacturing processes, customer applications, and competitive solutions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical situations and develop practical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate courses of action.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.
• Ability to influence decisions and effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business and customer requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business systems utilized for customer engagement and technical support.
• Ability to travel up to 40%.
