We are seeking a SITS Developer to join our growing team, supporting the delivery and enhancement of education management systems that power institutional operations across the higher education sector. This is a contract opportunity based in Birmingham, offering the chance to work with established technologies in a collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact how educational institutions manage their critical data and processes.

About the opportunity
This role sits within a team focused on the implementation, configuration and ongoing support of SITS (Student Information and Timetabling System) across education institutions. You would be part of a delivery-focused environment where your work supports the smooth operation of systems that manage student records, timetabling, and institutional workflows. The opportunity could involve working across multiple client implementations, gaining exposure to different institutional contexts and the diverse ways SITS is deployed to meet specific organisational needs., * Configuring and customising SITS to meet institutional requirements
- Supporting system implementations and upgrades across client environments
- Troubleshooting SITS functionality and resolving configuration issues
- Working with clients to understand their workflows and translate requirements into system configuration
- Documenting system configurations, processes and workarounds for ongoing reference
- Collaborating with other developers and support teams to deliver effective solutions
- Contributing to continuous improvement of SITS deployments and related processes
Requirements
- Practical experience working with SITS or comparable student information systems
- Strong understanding of education sector workflows, student records management and institutional timetabling
- Hands-on configuration and customisation experience within SITS
- Solid grasp of relational databases and SQL
- Problem-solving approach to technical configuration challenges
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a contract environment with defined project scopes
