Job description

The Graphic Object Developer will:

  • Create and revise graphic objects for digital and printed Army University Press publications.
  • Develop approximately 30-60 graphic objects per month, including maps, charts, illustrations, and photographs.
  • Convert draft maps, charts, briefing slides, photographs, and other source materials into publication-quality graphics.
  • Develop maps and charts using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Create and refine maps, graphics, illustrations, charts, diagrams, and other visual information products.
  • Apply appropriate U.S. Army doctrinal symbols to military graphics.
  • Review source graphics and photographs for copyright restrictions and maintain appropriate source information.
  • Ensure graphic products are legible, accurate, visually effective, and suitable for both physical and digital publication.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Maintain organized electronic project files, source files, and graphic-production records.
  • Support multiple publication projects simultaneously and meet established production schedules.
  • Deliver completed graphics electronically or through approved Department of Defense file-transfer methods.
  • Support periodic meetings, production reviews, and status-reporting requirements.

Requirements

LunaTek is seeking an experienced Graphic Object Developer to support the Army University Press (AUP). The Graphic Object Developer will create, revise, enhance, and prepare graphics for use in professional military publications distributed in digital and print formats. The successful candidate will have experience developing maps, charts, illustrations, photographs, and other graphic products for publication. This position requires strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and demonstrated ability to transform draft graphics, briefing slides, photographs, maps, and other source material into professional publication-quality products.

Experience developing graphics for Department of Defense, U.S. Army, military history, doctrine, professional military education, or similar organizations is highly desirable., Candidates must possess:

  • A degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Development, or a directly related field.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience developing graphic objects for digital and physical publication.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working with multiple digital image and publication file formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to create professional maps, graphics, illustrations, charts, and other visual information products.
  • Experience refining and enhancing maps, charts, photographs, and illustrations to professional publishing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce accurate, publication-ready work.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet production deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
