Job description

You will play a key role in developing, maintaining and enhancing the firm’s legal business systems.

This position would suit someone with experience developing legal case management systems who enjoys combining technical expertise with problem solving and stakeholder collaboration.

This role is based in the office 4 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week.

The Role

Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, you will play a key role in the ongoing development, maintenance and support of the firm’s practice and time management systems. Working closely with the wider IT team and stakeholders across the business, you will help optimise business systems, improve workflows and deliver effective technical support to colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day maintenance and development of the firm’s practice and time management systems.
  • Analysing business requirements and developing workflows within the practice management system to streamline processes, improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Creating, maintaining and enhancing document templates within the practice management system.
  • Building and maintaining integrations between the firm’s practice management system and third-party applications.
  • Producing and maintaining change management documentation for development projects.
  • Maintaining management information databases and creating reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
  • Providing application-specific and general IT support to colleagues across all departments.
  • Assisting with the planning, preparation and delivery of systems training for users across the firm.
  • Working closely with Heads of Department and key stakeholders to deliver development projects and resolve system-related queries.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm’s business systems and undertaking any other IT-related duties as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience developing and maintaining legal business systems.
  • Experience working with Practice Management, Case Management and Document Management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of legal workflows and processes.
  • Experience using T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience building RESTful API integrations.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Knowledge of One Advanced Partner for Windows (P4W).
  • Experience with AI, Machine Learning and Python.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Large Language Models (LLMs) or similar AI technologies.
  • Experience implementing automation solutions to improve legal processes and case management.
