IT Support Specialist

• Stay current on cybersecurity best practices and implement safety protocols.
• Monitor and support content filtering systems and ensure CIPA compliance.
• Support and enforce internet filters and schoolwide security policies.
• Set up, install, and configure new computers, printers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, and other tech tools.
• Manage and maintain a detailed inventory of all school technology equipment.
• Coordinate timely repairs, replacements, and upgrades of devices.
• Install, configure, and update software required for instructional and administrative use.
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and hardware/software issues.
• Assist in managing educational platforms and learning management systems (LMS).
• Provide support for application issues (e.g., software crashes, configurations).
• Set up and manage email accounts and login credentials for staff and students.
• Recommend and implement digital systems to improve school operations.
• Oversee system organization, user access, security, and usage fidelity.
• Provide responsive Tier-1 tech support for staff, students, and families.
• Monitor and respond promptly to helpdesk tickets and manage communications addressing general tech inquiries.
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to external support as needed and coordinate response
• Lead or support technology-related professional development for staff.
• Train teachers and staff on educational tools, systems, and best practices.
• Coordinate the tech setup for state and interim assessments.
• Ensure all devices are secure, functional, and ready for testing environments.
• Recommend suitable online learning platforms.
• Draft clear tech instructions for families and provide remote or in-person assistance.
• Attend monthly meetings to stay aligned with IT and school operations.
• Experienced in Google Workspace for Education (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Classroom, etc.).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)., This position will require occasional travel to Van Nuys and Valley Village approximately 1-2X a week as well as to Jefferson Park once or twice a month, to provide support to our other campuses.
