Job description

Join a team dedicated to supporting mission-critical environments as a Critical Systems Technician II specializing in UPS battery systems. Based in Sterling, VA, this hands-on, field-based role offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure that powers data centers and other high-reliability facilities. The position is a 6-month contract with the potential to become permanent, providing strong long-term career prospects. Technicians will gain valuable experience in battery installations, preventative maintenance, and safety procedures, all while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment., * Assist with the installation and replacement of UPS battery systems at customer sites

  • Support preventive maintenance and service tasks to ensure system reliability
  • Follow method of procedure (MOP), safety protocols, and critical facility guidelines
  • Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment for testing and maintenance
  • Collect and record test readings and service data using a laptop
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Collaborate with other service teams, including Switchgear, HVAC, and Operations, as needed
  • Travel to customer locations as required (approximately 30%+ travel)

Requirements

Do you have experience in Safety protocol implementation?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% or more
  • Ability to learn basic AC/DC electrical theory
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work safely with personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety procedures
  • Experience with UPS, battery, DC power, or critical facilities (preferred)
  • Familiarity with multimeters, amp clamps, or battery test equipment (preferred)
