Job description

The high-impact, Compass Call program is transforming electronic warfare for military aircraft, and this role provides the opportunity to shape both people and technology. We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to serve as a combined Functional Manager and Technical Manager within our Software Engineering organization. This position offers the chance to make a lasting impact on one of the most strategic programs in the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) portfolio while advancing your own leadership career.

In this dual-role position, you will guide a talented team of engineers while driving the design, implementation, and sustainment of mission-critical software solutions. You will spend time providing technical leadership througharchitecture reviews, overseeing program execution, and planning for next generation solutions. You will also lead on the people side, mentoring engineers, developing careers, and guiding performance across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, mentoring, career development, and performance management for a team of 7-15 software engineers.

  • Conduct one-on-one and section level meetings.

  • Provide a safe, inclusive culture.

  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new team members to meet business needs.

  • Use your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Support program execution through cost and schedule management, Earned Value Management, and metrics tracking.

  • Contribute to bid and proposal efforts.

  • Collaborate with other functional managers and discipline leads to ensure program success.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role/program, the expectation is that this job will be performed fully on site in Hudson, NH.

Requirements

  • Secret Security Clearance (active within the past two years)

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field

  • 8 years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities in either a functional and/or technical role.

  • Ability to lead a medium to large group with diverse cultures and individual differences

  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally

  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Prior functional management experience (i.e. general supervision, performance management, staffing)

  • Embedded software design and implementation

  • Experience with electronic warfare, radar, or communication systems

  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following languages C , Rust, C

  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Suite

  • Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management in a DoD environment

Benefits & conditions

Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
