Job description

The eCW Care Plan Module Specialist / Biller is a technical and administrative role responsible for the expert utilization of the eClinicalWorks (eCW) Care Plan Module to drive clinical documentation accuracy and revenue cycle efficiency. This position requires deep expertise in creating, tracking, and billing for care plans within the eCW ecosystem, particularly for complex cognitive wellness and chronic care management programs. The specialist ensures that all clinical plans are correctly captured to support both patient outcomes and optimized reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. eCW Care Plan Module Management

· Template Optimization: Develop and maintain specialized Care Plan templates within eCW to align with cognitive wellness protocols.

· User Support: Provide technical “super-user” support to clinical staff (Memory Coaches/LMSWs) on the correct entry and tracking of data within the Care Plan Module.

· Data Integrity: Audit care plan entries to ensure all mandatory fields, goals, and interventions are documented according to clinical and billing standards.

  1. Specialized Billing & RCM

· Module-Based Billing: Execute and oversee the billing process for care plan-related codes (e.g., CCM, PCM, or specific wellness codes) directly through the eCW RCM workflow.

· Claims Tracking: Monitor the status of claims generated through the Care Plan Module, resolving technical rejections or coding errors specific to care plan documentation.

· Revenue Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve reimbursement by ensuring all billable clinical activities within the care plan are accurately captured and coded.

  1. Implementation & Training

· Staff Training: Lead training sessions for new hires on eCW Care Plan Module navigation and documentation requirements.

· Workflow Design: Collaborate with the Regional Program Coordinator to refine clinical workflows that interface with the eCW module.

· System Updates: Stay current with eCW software updates and version changes, ensuring the Care Plan Module is configured to leverage new features.

Requirements

· Technical Expertise: Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience using the eClinicalWorks (eCW) Care Plan Module.

· Billing Background: Proven experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management (RCM), preferably in a specialty clinic or neuro-wellness environment.

· Healthcare Experience: Deep understanding of clinical documentation requirements for care management.

· Location: Based in or familiar with the Houston, TX healthcare market.

Skills & Competencies

· Advanced proficiency in eCW (Super-user status preferred).

· Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding related to chronic care and wellness plans.
