Job description
As an IT Support Specialist, you will:
¡ Provide exceptional help desk support by answering incoming service requests and assisting customers by phone, email, remote support, and on-site visits.
¡ Create, document, prioritize, and manage support tickets while escalating issues appropriately when additional expertise is needed.
¡ Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft Windows issues for business clients.
¡ Support technologies such as Microsoft 365, Windows Server, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, virtualization, managed backups, and business continuity solutions.
¡ Perform recurring maintenance, monitoring, and preventative support for customer environments both remotely and on-site.
¡ Review technical findings with senior technicians or management before preparing recommendations or reports for clients when appropriate.
¡ Assist with planning, coordinating, and completing small technology projects for business customers.
¡ Help manage project timelines and communicate project progress with clients and fellow team members.
¡ Install, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, printers, networking equipment, and business technology solutions.
¡ Provide on-site technical support while collaborating with senior technicians remotely when needed.
¡ Maintain detailed documentation of work completed and ensure client records remain accurate.
¡ Deliver professional, courteous customer service while representing the company in a positive manner.
Requirements
¡ Associateâs or Bachelorâs Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field OR at least 1-2 years of professional IT support experience.
While experience is valuable, weâre equally interested in candidates with the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn. We invest in developing our team members.
¡ Valid driverâs license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for local on-site client visits.
¡ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
¡ Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
¡ Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks while maintaining excellent follow-up and organization.
¡ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
¡ Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
¡ Ability to work independently after training while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
¡ Dependable, punctual, and highly organized.
¡ Strong work ethic with a desire for continuous professional growth in the IT industry.
Preferred Qualifications (Beneficial but Not Required)
Experience with any of the following is considered a strong advantage:
¡ Working within an IT ticketing, billing, or PSA (Professional Services Automation) platform, such as ConnectWise Manage, Autotask, HaloPSA, Syncro, or similar systems.
¡ Remote support software such as ConnectWise Control (ScreenConnect), TeamViewer, Splashtop, AnyDesk, or similar tools.
¡ Microsoft 365 administration and user management.
¡ Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
¡ Basic networking concepts including switches, routers, wireless networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
¡ Setting up, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting managed backup solutions.
¡ Endpoint security and antivirus management.
¡ Business workstation deployment and configuration.
¡ Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
¡ Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or similar certifications.
¡ Experience documenting networks, systems, procedures, and client environments.
Technologies Youâll Be Exposed To
Depending on client needs, youâll gain hands-on experience with a broad range of business technologies, including:
¡ Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and Windows Server
¡ Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
¡ Networking, switching, routing, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
¡ Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware
¡ Managed backups, business continuity, and disaster recovery
¡ Endpoint security, antivirus, firewalls, and cybersecurity tools
¡ Cloud services, VoIP systems, and business workstation deployments
¡ Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), remote support, and PSA platforms
