Job description

One postholder will be proposed as CQC Registered Manager, subject to Board decision and CQC approval. The second will lead our assurance and audit programme. Both are recruited against the same specification. Tell us at interview which draws you.

Governance here is not a back-office function. It reports directly to the Board, and you will have a written right to escalate any patient safety concern without going through the executive.

About CB1 Medical

A weekly Clinical Governance Forum, a ratified policy suite, a structured audit programme and named clinical leads are already in place. You will own that system, not build it from scratch., Reporting to the Chief Executive, with a professional line to the Medical Director and direct Board access.

  • Own the governance suite: policy control, assurance calendar, risk register, evidence register and Board reporting
  • Run the weekly Clinical Governance Forum as a decision-making body, with every action owned, dated and closed
  • Run the clinical audit programme with our clinical leads: scheduled, sampled, reported, re-audited
  • Own incidents, significant events, duty of candour, safeguarding and complaints governance
  • Oversee medicines and controlled drug governance with the Medical Director and lead prescribers
  • Manage every interaction with CQC: notifications, information requests, registration and inspection
  • Lead our transition to the successor CQC assessment framework
  • Use AI and digital tools to make governance faster and more reliable, Hybrid: home-based with regular scheduled on-site attendance in Leicester for governance meetings, audits and inspections. Job share and flexible patterns considered.
