Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Systems Administrator for a contract opportunity supporting a Robert Half client a diverse infrastructure environment. This position is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys working across server administration, networking, Microsoft 365 technologies, and infrastructure support.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting both on-premises and cloud environments and be comfortable performing a combination of remote administration and hands-on infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server environments

• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, file services, and Microsoft 365

• Support Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and SharePoint environments

• Troubleshoot server, network, and cloud infrastructure issues

• Configure and support switches, firewalls, and related network infrastructure

• Perform hardware installation, equipment deployment, and cabling activities

• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts

• Document systems, processes, and technical solutions

• Collaborate with technical teams to support ongoing infrastructure initiatives

• Maintain security, backup, and business continuity solutions

• Provide technical support and guidance to users and stakeholders

• 3+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support experience

• Experience supporting Windows Server environments

• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration

• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, switches, and firewalls

• Experience troubleshooting server, network, and cloud-related issues

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

• Experience with Microsoft Intune

• Experience with SharePoint administration

• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments

• Experience performing hands-on infrastructure deployments
