Job description

This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Software Engineer positions based in Birmingham, West Midlands. Roles of this type could involve designing and developing robust software solutions using contemporary technologies such as .NET, ASP.NET, React, Java and cloud platforms including Azure and AWS. You could work across microservices architecture, API development, containerisation and CI/CD pipelines, supporting teams that deliver high-quality, distributed systems for clients across technology, engineering, life sciences and financial services., * Developing and maintaining software applications using .NET, ASP.NET, React, Java and Spring Boot frameworks

  • Designing and implementing APIs and microservices architecture
  • Working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and GCP to deploy and scale applications
  • Contributing to CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Writing and optimising SQL queries and managing data pipelines
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Supporting code reviews and contributing to continuous improvement of development practices
  • Working with version control systems and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or demonstrable equivalent technical knowledge
  • Practical experience with at least one of: .NET, ASP.NET, Java, Spring Boot or React
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and API development
  • Experience with version control systems

Nice-to-have

  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification
  • Professional Scrum Developer (PSD I) certification
  • Experience with containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tooling
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts
  • Experience with data quality and data pipeline tools
