Job description

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially focused Reporting Analyst to support business decision-making through the delivery of insightful reporting, performance analysis, and data-driven recommendations. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming complex sales, pricing, operational, warranty, and quality data into actionable intelligence using Microsoft Power BI and other analytical tools.

Working closely with various departments, the Reporting Analyst will provide in-depth analysis that helps optimise pricing strategies, improve profitability, identify operational efficiencies, and enhance product performance across our range of diesel fuel pumps and diesel fuel injectors.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded analyst to make a significant impact within a growing engineering and distribution business., Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and continually improve Power BI dashboards and reports to support business performance monitoring.
  • Design and automate reporting solutions to provide timely and accurate management information.
  • Create interactive visualisations and reports that enable stakeholders to identify key trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Sharing insights by explaining the relevance of data streams to Team Leaders who are not technically minded.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and consistency across all reporting platforms.

Collaborative Working

Working alongside various departments within the organisation, the Reporting Analyst will work collaboratively to provide various data streams such as:

Sales Department

· Analyse sales performance by product, customer, territory, sales representative, and market sector.

· Provide detailed pricing analysis to support profitability and margin improvement initiatives including discount reviews.

Warranty & Production Departments

· Analyse warranty claims data to identify recurring product issues and failure patterns.

· Support production planning through analysis of sales demand, stock levels, and operational performance.

QHSE Department

· Produce reports and dashboards relating to quality performance, non-conformances, corrective actions, and safety metrics.

Data Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Data Gathering - Gather and collate data from various business systems.
  • Data Cleansing - Extract, cleanse, validate, and transform data from various business systems.
  • Recommend improvements to reporting processes, data structures, and analytical methodologies.
  • Promote a data-driven culture throughout the organisation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Adoption and utilisation of Power BI dashboards across departments.
  • Identification of margin improvement opportunities.
  • Reduction in manual reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving abilities including the ability to spot anomalies or missing data.
  • Ability to communicate complex charts and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, automotive, diesel fuel systems, or industrial products sectors.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management.
  • Familiarity with inventory, supply chain, and production planning data.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and warranty processes.
  • Experience with forecasting and predictive analytics techniques., * Degree or experience in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline., * Commercially aware with a strong focus on delivering business value.
  • Curious and proactive in identifying trends and opportunities.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
