Job description
The Enterprise Network Operations Lead is responsible for leading the engineering, architecture, governance, and strategic direction of enterprise load-balancing and application delivery services. This role serves as the technical authority for F5 BIG-IP platforms including LTM, DNS/GTM, ASM/AWAF, SSL Orchestrator, and associated application delivery technologies. The individual will design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure application delivery infrastructures supporting business-critical services across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role requires strong expertise in platform modernization, automation, operational excellence, security integration, and stakeholder management., Strategy & Architecture
- Define and drive the enterprise-wide roadmap for Application Delivery Controller (ADC) and load-balancing services.
- Architect resilient, scalable, and secure application delivery solutions across global environments.
- Establish technology standards, governance frameworks, and operational best practices for F5 platforms.
- Provide architectural guidance for new application deployments, digital transformation initiatives, and cloud adoption programs.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend modernization strategies to improve availability, security, and performance.
F5 Engineering & Platform Management

Design, implement, and administer F5 BIG-IP solutions including:
- Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
- DNS / Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
- Advanced Web Application Firewall (AWAF/ASM)
- SSL Orchestrator
- Access Policy Manager (APM)
- DNS Security Services
- Develop and maintain application delivery architectures supporting high availability and disaster recovery requirements.
- Implement advanced traffic management, SSL offloading, persistence, health monitoring, and content switching solutions.
- Manage F5 upgrades, migrations, software lifecycle, capacity planning, and platform optimization.
Security & Compliance
- Design and implement secure application delivery solutions aligned with enterprise security standards.
- Integrate F5 security services with WAF, DDoS protection, certificate management, IAM, and SIEM platforms.
- Oversee SSL/TLS encryption strategies and certificate lifecycle management.
- Support internal audits, compliance requirements, security assessments, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to enhance application protection and zero-trust initiatives.
Cloud & Hybrid Integration
- Architect cloud-based load-balancing solutions across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
- Support deployment and management of virtual F5 appliances and cloud-native ADC solutions.
- Integrate enterprise networking services with Kubernetes, container platforms, and microservices architectures.
- Drive cloud migration initiatives while ensuring application availability and security.
Automation & DevOps

Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation frameworks using:
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Python
- REST APIs
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Automate provisioning, configuration management, compliance validation, and operational reporting.
- Promote DevSecOps practices across application delivery and network services.
Operations & Service Excellence
- Provide technical leadership for L2/L3/L4 operational teams.
- Lead major incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
- Ensure platform availability, performance, and SLA compliance.
- Drive continuous service improvements through automation and operational optimization.
- Develop operational runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge repositories.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for application delivery and load-balancing services.
- Mentor engineers and develop technical capabilities within the team.
- Engage with enterprise architects, application owners, security teams, cloud teams, and external vendors.
- Present architecture recommendations and operational reviews to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise networking and application delivery.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP technologies.
- Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise load-balancing environments.
- Experience supporting mission-critical global applications.
