Job description

Expected to support all Behavioral Health nursing units as needed at the direction of leadership., Leads and mentors Crisis Support Specialists. Performs Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model ensuring quality care and safety., * Oversees daily operations of the CSS team, including mentoring and training.

  • Implements new or improved procedures and provides training to staff on these processes.
  • Provides training and guidance to staff on the latest techniques and maintains accurate records of related training.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation is complete.
  • Supports patient care within scope of training and competency, by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • Collaborates to improve communication and operations of the department.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, criminal justice, or related field, or equivalent experience, required., * Certified as a crisis intervention Trainer.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required.
  • First Aid certification by the organization, required prior to finishing unit-based orientation, and maintain certification., * Proficient with MS Office, time management, and organization.
  • Demonstrates high level of initiative & autonomy, clinical decision making, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept in collaboration, and ability to relate effectively with all hospital staff. Ability to effectively organize and facilitate meetings to produce tangible outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching, educational or treatment program development, process implementation and maintenance, or related tasks.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and ethical decision-making.

Experience:

  • One year of experience in a hospital setting within the past 3 years, required.
  • Experience in de-escalation and safety training, required.
  • Pediatric behavioral health experience, required.

Benefits & conditions

Rate: Starts at $24.50/hour with potential for higher pay based on relevant exp., plus 1.80 Evening Shift differential.
