- Develop and refine construction drawings, detailed documentation, and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, Lumion and SketchUp.
- Collaborate with project teams to create accurate building information models (BIM) and renderings that communicate design intent effectively.
- Conduct building code analysis to ensure compliance with local regulations and accessibility standards throughout all project phases.
- Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and construction estimating to support project management efforts.
- Prepare sustainable design strategies and contribute to environmentally conscious architectural solutions.
- Coordinate with consultants on structural, mechanical, electrical systems, and construction accessibility regulations to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Support business development activities by preparing presentations, proposals, and engaging in client negotiations when needed.
Requirements
We are a well-established, fast growing, design-focused architectural firm in New York City seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Intermediate Architect with 5-8 years of experience working on government/agency projects. In this role, you will play a vital part in transforming conceptual ideas into comprehensive construction documents and detailed design solutions. Your expertise will support project development from initial planning through to construction management, ensuring all designs meet regulatory standards, sustainability goals, and client expectations. This position offers an exciting growth opportunity while contributing to diverse projects, including renovations, new builds, and interior design initiatives, advancing your skills in architectural technology and project coordination., * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, NY and NJ license a plus.
- 5-8 years’ experience working on projects such as K-12, Higher education, healthcare and transportation for government agencies such as SCA, DASNY, PANYNJ, CUCF, SUCF etc.
- Proven experience as an architect or architectural designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating architectural design, construction documentation, and 3D modeling skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, Lumion and SketchUp.
- Solid understanding of building code compliance, accessibility regulations, and regulatory processes.
- Experience with construction management tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, construction estimating, and project coordination.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and experience applying them in real-world projects.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to produce detailed construction drawings and construction detail documentation accurately.
