Job description
We are seeking a Systems & Tools Programmer with specialized experience in Unreal Engine 5 Procedural Content Generation (PCG). In this position, you will design and implement modular world-building tools, procedural generation graphs, editor utility tools, and core system architectures that empower our design pipeline.
You will play a critical role in defining how our worlds are generated, structured, and optimized-converting high-level design constraints into efficient, scalable procedural algorithms., * Procedural Pipeline Development: Build, extend, and optimize procedural generation workflows using UE5 PCG (Procedural Content Generation framework), Blueprints, and C++.
- Editor Utility Tools: Create custom editor tools, scripts, and utilities that streamline level assembly, asset placement, and designer workflows.
- System Architecture: Design robust, modular C++ subsystems for environment generation, grid systems, inventory, or save/load state persistence.
- Performance Optimization: Profile procedural generation overhead, memory footprint, and rendering batch efficiency to ensure high frame rates across low- and high-end hardware.
- Documentation & Support: Provide clean technical documentation and maintain intuitive tool interfaces for non-programmer team members.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine 5 system architecture.
- Hands-on experience building custom graphs and rulesets using UE5 PCG or custom procedural algorithms.
- Familiarity with Unreal Editor Utility Blueprints (EUBs), Slate/UMG tools, and Editor scripting.
- Strong understanding of spatial partitioning, math algorithms (vector math, noise functions, grid logic), and data structures.
- Self-motivated with a track record of building clean, reliable, and user-friendly tools.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Houdini Engine / Houdini PCG workflows integrated into Unreal Engine.
- Experience with modular tile-based or dungeon-generation algorithms.
- Knowledge of asset streaming, Nanite/Lumen optimization, and level partitioning (World Partition).
