Job description
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Senior Tier II Network Technician to support the customer’s computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as, analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.\n \n \nThe job duties of the Senior Tier II Network Technician are as follows:\n \n \n
- The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.\n
- Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.\n
- Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).\n
- Draft and implement standard network change requests.\n
- Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).\n
- Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.\n
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).\n
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).\n
Requirements
- Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs.\n
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)\n
- Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs).\n
- Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS.\n
- Experience with Visio.\n
- Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.\n
- Experience mentoring and training junior technical staff\n
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.\n, * Required Clearance: TS/SCI CI Poly\n
- Candidate must have 12 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 4 years, master’s and 6 years, bachelor’s and 8 years, associates and 10 years or HS diploma and 12 years.\n
- Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.\n
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time.\n
- Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support.\n
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.\n
