Job description

The Quality Systems Engineer, under minimal direction, is responsible for maintaining and supporting assigned elements of the site’s Quality Management System. This position plays a key role in internal audits, corrective actions, customer complaints, quality documentation, and external audit readiness within a highly regulated manufacturing environment., * Manage the Internal Audit Program, including developing the audit schedule, assigning and tracking audits, ensuring timely completion, reporting results, assigning corrective actions when required, and developing process metrics.

  • Manage customer complaints and the corrective action system by assigning and tracking corrective actions, coordinating retesting with Inspection, reviewing corrective action plans, monitoring completion, coordinating effectiveness reviews, and developing process metrics.
  • Manage the site’s stamp control program.
  • Create, revise, and maintain Quality Management System procedures, work instructions, forms, and other controlled documentation.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, including AS9100 registrar audits, Nadcap audits, FAA audits, and customer audits.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Inspection, and other departments to investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Assist with the training and development of employees regarding Quality Management System requirements and procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate quality system performance, audit results, corrective actions, and related metrics.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety practices and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering or quality systems experience in aerospace or medical manufacturing.
  • Must have hands-on experience working within an AS9100 Quality Management System, including internal audits and/or QMS audits.
  • Experience managing corrective actions, root cause investigations, and effectiveness verification.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Quality Management System documentation.
  • Process improvement experience, including Six Sigma and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC), is preferred.
  • Nadcap experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting FAA, regulatory, registrar, or customer audits is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications., * Strong knowledge and practical application of AS9100 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, specifications, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures, corrective actions, and Quality Management System documentation.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Experience with 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, or similar corrective action methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, auditors, and regulatory representatives.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Life insurance, The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid at the applicable quarterly bonus factor based on Company performance.

Employees receive 120 hours of paid time off annually and 10 paid holidays. Employees and their eligible family members may participate in the Company’s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans. Employees are also eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
