A proprietary trading and market-making firm is hiring a full-time Trade Support Engineer for an hybrid role in Chicago, IL. This position sits at the intersection of trading, technology, and operations, supporting a high-performance electronic trading environment where reliability, speed, and accuracy are critical. The Trade Support Engineer serves as a front-line resource for monitoring production systems, troubleshooting trading issues, supporting traders, and ensuring seamless day-to-day market operations.

This opportunity is ideal for a technical support professional with experience in trading, financial services, or mission-critical production environments. Requirements

2+ years of experience in Trade Support, Trade Operations, Application Support, or a similar production support role Strong experience supporting both Windows and Linux environments Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and incident investigation Familiarity with JSON, XML, and Parquet data formats Experience troubleshooting application, infrastructure, and operating system issues Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Detail-oriented with strong documentation and process improvement habits Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements

Desired Skills & Experience Experience supporting exchange-traded derivatives environments Knowledge of the trade lifecycle, trade capture, and reconciliation processes Experience interacting with exchanges and clearing firms Familiarity with trading protocols such as FIX, FIXP, MDP3, BOE, or ITCH Exposure to observability platforms and incident management practices Experience utilizing AI-powered development or code-generation tools 3+ years of directly relevant experience for Senior-level consideration
